Everyone has a certain amount of natural fat in the face and neck. However, sometimes there are localized areas of excess fat that do not respond well to dieting and exercise, and cause parts of the face to appear disproportionate.
The chin and neck are common areas affected by excess fat, and now liposuction is available to help combat this aesthetic issue. Chin and neck liposuction can help individuals with a “weak” or double chin attain a stronger profile.
The Procedure
During liposuction, very small incisions are made under the chin and are hidden by the jaw line. A hollow tube called a cannula is inserted into the fatty tissue; the liposuction cannula is connected to a vacuum unit. The doctor will move the cannula under the skin while the vacuum suctions away the excess fat from the chin and neck.
After The Procedure
After the procedure, there will be swelling and some bruising. The degree of swelling and bruising is proportional to the amount of fat removed. You will wear a facial garment for approximately three days. |
