What is typical of
recovery?
During the first three days following the procedure,
patients experience tightness around the ears and mouth. These sensations are
normal, and are due to the purse string sutures. The tightness usually subsides
after a week. Mild swelling and minimal bruising lasts one to two weeks. There
will be some light swelling from the mid-cheek to the temple area for several
months, which is normal and basically unnoticeable. Most patients go back to
work in a week or less, wearing their hair in front of their ears.
Post-operative pain is minimal and is usually relieved by Tylenol. Can the
mini facelift be combined with other facial procedures?
The mini facelift can be performed in conjunction with an
upper and/or lower blepharoplasty, neck liposuction, and fat grafting to the
lips and other regions of the face as needed.
How long do the effects last?
Technically, the results last forever because no matter
what age you are, you will always look younger than your age after you have the
mini facelift procedure. But the natural aging process does continue, so it is
not uncommon for people to have touchups after 5 to 7 years.
What are the benefits of the mini facelift over the
traditional facelift procedure?
The medical risks are minimized in the mini facelift.
Through this state-of-the-art surgical technique, chances of nerve interference,
facial paralysis, necrosis, and scarring are significantly reduced. Financially
speaking, the cost of the mini facelift is significantly lower than the
traditional facelift procedure.
